Could Knowledge of H. Pylori Pathogenicity Factors Lead to the Emergence of New Methods for Identifying Bacteria?

چکیده
H. pylori is an extracellular bacterial pathogen adapted to colonizing the gastric mucosa. It is currently recognized as the most common etiological factor involved in the genesis of digestive disorders with localization in the gastric mucosa, present in two thirds of the world population in relation to socio-economic status. The relationship between the H. pylori bacteria and the human host can be explained in three stages, each involving specific factors. In the first stage H. pylori crosses the stomach and enters in the gastric mucosa. The next step of joining the gastric epithelium and colonization of the mucosa leads to long-term resistance to treatment and chronic infection and it is facilitated by the genotypic and phenotypic diversity of H. pylori. In the third stage we can observe the harmful action on the gastric mucosa.

Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is the causative agent in development of gastroduode-nal diseases, such as chronic atrophic gastritis, peptic ulcers, mucosa associated lym-phoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma, and gastric cancer. H. pylori has been associated with inflammation in cardia, showing the fact that infection with this bacterium could also be a risk factor for gastric cardia cancer. Gastric c...

ABSTRACT Background and Objectives: Helicobacter pylori is the most common cause of gastritis and ulcer worldwide. Treatment of such infections may lead to failure due to drug resistance. This study aimed to investigate the antimicrobial effects of bacteria present in camel milk on the growth of drug-resistant clinical isolat...

Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection has been reported in more than half of the world human population. It is associated with gastric inflammation and noticeable infiltration of the immune cells to the stomach mucosa by several cytokines secretion. IL-1&beta, IL-18 have been shown to contribute to H. pylori induced gastritis, but the details of inflammation and association of virulence fac...
متن کاملRole of Helicobacter pylori on differential expression of angiogenic markers in gastric adenocarcinoma
Animal studies showed that male gastric tissues respond more rapidly to Helicobacter pylori (H.pylori) infection but the possible mechanisms remained unclear. There is no data about gender specific activity of Androgen receptor (AR) as an independent unfavorable prognostic factor in gastric cancer and its interactions with H.pylori and angiogenesis in both genders. To compare the pathogenesis o...

The repeated exposure of a normal cell to carcinogenic agents may lead to its mutation, which changes into a cancer cell. In this case, the structure and function of the cells would alter, and they do not act normally. Chemicals, sun exposure, shortwaves, viruses, and bacteria play a significant role in cancer. Among the infectious and bacterial agents causing cancer, Helicobacter pylori (H. py...
